Gums Bleeding
Bleeding Gums
There are a couple possible causes of bleeding gums.

1.) The most common is gingivitis. There is plaque or tartar building up on the teeth and your gums don't like it so they swell and bleed. A good cleaning generally resolves this.

2.) Periodontitis, the mean older brother of gingivitis. This is where gingivitis has gotten worse and your bone is dissolving away. This requires more extensive cleanings and work to maintain.

3.) Trauma, you may be brushing to hard, jabbing yourself with floss or toothpicks, or a sharp food like a tortilla chip got you. We can double check to see the source of the problem and help you improve your home care technique. Watch these short videos on proper brushing or flossing technique.
